Westhill High School's Winter Percussion Ensemble won a regional championship in the Winter Guard International Regional Championships in Trumbull on March 7. The ensemble will go on to compete in the WGI's World Percussion & Color Guard Championships in Ohio, according to a statement.
Westhill's ensemble competed against about 40 other units during Saturday's preliminary intensive championships, performing an original show entitled "Melodies of Life."
The 28-member ensemble is directed by Diane Zinicola.
