For the first time since the band's inception 11 years ago, the band earned first place in the New England Regional Championships at the United states Scholastic Band Association's (USSBA) annual competition on Oct. 25 in New Britain.
Westhill High School Marching Band and Color Guard won the United States Scholastic Band Association New England Regional Class 3A competition at the Veteran's Memorial Stadium in New Britain October 25th. The bans, composed of 63 members under the directions of Tom Miner, also won first place in percussion, overall effect and music for their performance of "La Noube" from Cirque du Soleil.
